Area Calculator
Calculate the area of common shapes including squares, rectangles, circles, and triangles. Perfect for geometry homework, construction projects, and more.
Calculator implementation coming soon. This calculator is being developed and will be available shortly.
This calculator computes the area of common geometric shapes using standard formulas. Simply select your shape and enter the required dimensions.
How It Works
Area Formulas
Rectangle: A = l × w | Circle: A = πr² | Triangle: A = (b × h) / 2Each shape has its own formula: rectangle is length times width, circle is pi times radius squared, triangle is base times height divided by 2.
Rectangle: Area = length × width
Square: Area = side × side
Circle: Area = π × radius²
Triangle: Area = (base × height) ÷ 2
Important Notes:
- •All measurements should be in the same unit for accurate results
- •π (pi) is approximately 3.14159
- •Perimeter is calculated for rectangles and circles
Worked Example
Calculate the area of a rectangle with length 15 feet and width 10 feet.
Inputs:
- shape:rectangle
- length:15
- width:10
- radius:0
- base:0
- height:0
Result:
The area is 150 square feet with a perimeter of 50 feet.
