How It Works
Tip Calculation Formula
Tip = Bill × (Tip% ÷ 100) | Total = Bill + TipTip equals bill amount times tip percentage divided by 100. Total equals bill plus tip.
Tip amount = bill amount × (tip percentage ÷ 100)
Total with tip = bill amount + tip amount
Per person = total with tip ÷ number of people
Important Notes:
- •Standard tipping in the US is 15-20% for good service
- •Different countries have different tipping customs
- •Tip percentage may vary based on service quality and dining context
Worked Example
A $50 bill with 20% tip, split between 2 people.
Inputs:

- tip Percentage:20

Result:
The tip is $10, making the total $60. Split between 2 people, each pays $30.
